Slick Airways ws founded by Earl J. Slick. The airlines initial operation was cargo charter. They were certificated as a scheduled cargo carrier in 1949 and began transcontinental service. The airline also began supplemental passenger charter operations in 1949 primarily for the military. Throught their history, they were cargo and passenger charter service with heavy emphasis on military contracts. They were purchased by and merged with Airlift International in 1966.
